2014 French Open Update: Giant-Killer Garbine Muguruza Ousts No. 1 Seed Serena Williams [PHOTOS]

Second seed Li Na of China got the boot just in Day 3 and first round of the 2014 French Open; the day after, the No. 1 seed Serena Williams (USA) followed suit getting ousted in the second round of the women's singles competition by unheralded Garbine Muguruza of Spain in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

Ranked No. 35 in the world, the 20-year-old Spaniard dominated the match against perhaps the best player in the women's tour. She ended the match in just 1 hour and 4 minute-- exactly 32 minutes in each set.

Williams had 29 unforced errors to Muguruza's 18. The Spaniard was also more aggressive winning 5-of-7 net points (71%) and breaking the American 5 times in 8 chances (63%).

This is the earliest elimination for the American in a Grand Slam since losing in the second round of the Australian Open 16 years ago.
