Enrique Iglesias' fans were recently in gripe when the news about the singer's death hoax went on Twitter. Several Twitter users were tweeting #RIPEnriqueIglesias. The news of the "Finally Found You" singer's death became a trend after a fake report of his crash became widespread online.

The death hoax news was first reported by Global Associated news, saying in its report that the 39-year-old singer lost his life in a single car crash on Route 80 Morristown and Roswell.

The reports went on to suggested Iglesias was pronounced dead on the spot by the paramedic team. A photo ID found in his paraphernalia apparently identified the singer's dead body.

"Highway Safety investigators have told reporters that Enrique Iglesias lost control while driving a friend's vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly. The vehicle was believed to have been traveling at approximately 95 miles per hour in a 55mph zone at the time of the accident. Witnesses have stated that Enrique Iglesias's car crossed the double lines several times prior to the accident and hit the center lane divider causing the vehicle to flip and roll, " read the Global Associated News statement.

Global Associated News is known to create fake celebrity death news. A message on the site suggested the stories are 100 percent fake and this is an entertainment Web site, which relies on fictional stories.

Also, this was not the first time the Web site has released a fake death story. They're a plethora of celebrities who have become a victim of fake car crash, including Singer Jesse McCartney, TV host Jerry Springer, basketball star Kobe Bryant.

The hoax expounding car crash as the reason of demise has been the craze since "Fast & Furious 7" actor Paul Walker lost his life in a tragic car accident on Nov. 30 while coming from a charity event in California.

Though the reports of Iglesias' death are untrue, his fans expressed their disappointment on Twitter.

"Is Enrique Iglesias dead? Look athe the worldwide trends."

"is it true Enrique Iglesias died in a car accident?"

"Oh my God! #EnriqueIglesias Dies In Car Crash," tweeted a few fans on their official social media account.
