Top 4 Most Awaited 2014 Smartphones: iPhone 6, LG G3, Moto X+1 & Galaxy Note 4

The smartphone market is buzzing with numerous choices that scale from high-end to low-end specifications and inexpensive to sky-high price ranges. Making a decision from the available choices and sticking to it until the device is purchased could be an arduous task. Therefore, we have collated a list of upcoming smartphones that are worth the wait.

Apple iPhone 6
Apple's much-anticipated and most-rumored upcoming device, the iPhone 6 is expected to rule the smartphone market. Powerful specifications and Apple's brand name are a killer combination that never goes unnoticed.
Apple's iPhone 6 will reportedly come bundled with a bigger 4.7 inches display and a screen resolution of 1,704 x 960 pixels. In addition, a phablet is also in the offing from the tech giant, which is expected to feature a 5.5 inches screen. The iPhone 6 will be powered by a brand new Apple A8 processor. The handset is expected to debut sapphire crystal display that helps avoid cracks and scratches due to accidental drops.
Apple is known for dodging the NFC bullet for quite some time now, but the upcoming iPhone 6 will give-in to the need for NFC support. The camera unit of the device is rumored to get an upgrade from 8 MP to 12 MP unit. Other specifications and support include iOS 8, Touch ID, and 1 GB of RAM. The phone is expected to come in 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB of internal storage capacity. In addition, a 128 GB of internal storage variant is rumored.
The iPhone 6 is expected to be released in September.
The LG G3 will make a landfall in the much competitive smartphones market in June. It is expected to kill all the existing flagship smartphones that are making waves, which includes the HTC One M8, the Sony Xperia Z2 and the Samsung Galaxy S5. The success of 2013's LG G2 elevated the company's reputation and the expectation from the upcoming device is much higher.
The specifications include, a 5.5 inches Quad HD display with 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution. The device will be powered by a quad-core processor (Snapdragon 801 processor), clocked at 2.3 GHz with 3 GB of RAM. The phone will house a 13 MP rear-facing camera and a 2 MP front-facing camera that is expected to support 4K video playback and 120 fps slow motion video capture. In addition, the device will come with a 32 GB of internal storage with microSD slot for expansion. The phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat on top of LG's Optimus UI and it will feature a removable 3200 mAh battery unit. The device will sport a water resistant exterior and it is confirmed to come in three different shades - black, white and gold.
The smartphone will be priced within the range of US$500 and US$600.
Motorola Moto X+1
The Motorola Moto X+1 also known as Moto X2 is one of the much awaited devices. There have been quite a lot of rumored specifications floating around this device; in addition, Motorola accidentally confirmed the existence of the device recently.
The specifications include a 5.2 inches full HD display with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels screen resolution. The device will be powered by a quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 800) clocked at 2.3 GHz, with a 2 GB of RAM. The upcoming Moto X+1 will run on Android 4.4.3 KitKat out-of-the-box and will come with a 16 GB or a 32 GB of internal storage. It is worth noting that, there will be no microSD slot support for expansion. The handset will house a 12 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera unit. The phone will be equipped with 2,600 mAh battery unit.
The expected release date is slated to be late summer and the phone is priced at US$400 under AT&T.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4
The Galaxy Note 3 is a power-packed smartphone/phablet that is still in demand. Hence it is only natural that the buzz around the upcoming Note 4 will be sky-high.
The Galaxy Note 4 from Samsung will boast a 5.7 inches display with a superior resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. If rumors were true, the device could feature a three-sided YOUM display, where the left and the right sides of the display are curved (slightly) in such a way that users can view important notifications on those sides. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to run on Android 4.5 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The Note 4 will be powered by an octa-core 64-bit processor with a solid 4 GB of RAM and up to 128 GB of internal storage. The device is expected to house a whopping 20.7 MP camera unit with 4K recording capability. Also, the phone is expected to be priced under US$800 and the expected release date is set for September.
Note: The Nexus 6 would have definitely made it to the list but according to the recent reports, the Nexus 6 is not slated for this year.
