Recent consumer survey says that Apple iPhone 5s has satisfied more consumers compared to competitors like Samsung Galaxy S5 and the LG G2. According to customer satisfaction survey on smartphone desirability and ranking in South Korea, the iPhone 5s has gained a significant advantage over homegrown competitors like Samsung, LG and Pantech.
The gold colored version of the new iPhone 5S is seen after Apple Inc's media event in Cupertino, California September 10, 2013.
South Korean firm, Marketing Insight, has been monitoring user satisfaction rankings on smartphones based on several factors. The company's recent survey compared the satisfaction ratings of Apple's iPhone 5s, LG G2 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Nexus 5 among others.
According to the survey, Apple's iPhone 5 scored above average for the categories tested whereas the Samsung Galaxy S5 scored below average in display, design, multimedia speed, processing speed, weight, size, response time, usability, UI design and latest tech.
Whereas Samsung's Galaxy S5 scored lower compared to the iPhone 5s, it also did not score as better compared to similar Android products especially in design. It ranked sixed overall just behind the iPhone 5, the first and second generation LG G2 as well as the Nexus 5.
The study surveyed 9,397 consumers who just bought a smartphone in the past six months from October 2013 to April 2014. According to Korean website Ohmy News (via Apple Insider): "The gap of satisfaction between Apple and domestic products has rather increased."
"The satisfaction score of Apple products was 798 out of 1000 which made Apple take the first place with almost 200 points of gap between domestic products. LG, Samsung and Pantech had gained 609, 600, and 577 respectively, which are of more or less the same score."
Around 90 percent of iPhone owners expressed being "very satisfied" or "satisfied" over their phone purchase. These survey results should offer an insight on what Apple can expect over the performance of its iPhone series. The tech giant will reportedly release the iPhone 6 this September. The device will come in two variants: a 4.7-inch model and a 5.5-inch model.
According to a report by TIME and 9to5Mac, the 4.7-inch device will feature a 1704-by-960 resolution display. TIME also noted that the display capacity of the iPhone 6 matters especially to developers who have to change their codes to ensure programs appear appropriately on screen. It should also make a difference in the overall user experience. The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 version will reportedly come with a 1704-by-960 resolution display.
