"The Originals" actor Joseph Morgan, who portrays the vampire-werewolf hybrid Klaus Mikaelson, confirmed that he is engaged to actress Persia White. The revelation happened during Joseph Morgan's appearance at The CW's Upfront event in New York City on Thursday, May 15.

The British actor talked about his proposal in the E!News report where he described the moment to be nerve-wracking but special. "I'm not going to go into specific detail but I tried to be romantic," Joseph Morgan shared.

The wonderful news on Joseph Morgan's engagement happened just before he celebrated his birthday on May 16 where he turned 33 years old. Joseph Morgan met actress Persia White in 2011 on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 3 set where the 41-year-old actress portrayed Bonnie's (Kat Graham) mom, Abby.

Additionally, the recently engaged couple expressed their gratitude to the fans that showed support on their relationship and journey together. "We really appreciate those of you who have supported our wild, creative, passionate and unlikely relationship. We have found a rare and precious thing; true love. We wish you all the same," Joseph and Persia's joint statement in the WetPaint report reads.

The entertainment Web site further noted on how Joseph Morgan happily talked about the love of his life during the HuffPost Live interview in September 2013. The CW star admitted that he is very happy and lucky that Persia White came with him to New York during a vacation. "I get the weekend off so we get to experience a little of that. But that's all I'm going to put out there - I'm going to keep the rest for myself," the British actor shared.

Joseph Morgan continued to portray Klaus Mikaelson in the CW Network's "The Vampire Diaries" spinoff series called "The Originals." As for Persia White, the Fashion & Style report revealed that the star of the former CW show "Girlfriends" has been progressively working on her acting and music career.

Meanwhile, the CW Network has announced that "The Originals" will now air on a new schedule when the spinoff series return with Season 2. Fans will be seeing the Mikaelson family members, witches and werewolves on the Monday night timeslot at 8 pm.
