Before the performance inside the small recording booth on stage, Young and White shared a few laughs with Jimmy Fallon. Young even remembers Fallon's hilarious impersonation of him before. Young and White also discussed how they teamed up for "A Letter Home."
"White also explained the history of the Voice-O-Graph, the refurbished 1947 vinyl recording booth that Young recorded A Letter Home in. After White had spent a decade looking for the machine and a year and a half renovating it, the booth debuted at Third Man Records for Record Store Day 2013," reported Rolling Stone.

Fallon tweeted the news of Neil Young's performance on The Tonight Show a few hours before the live taping of the show. Fallon was very excited to announce that the performance will make history. After the finished product recorded in vinyl, Fallon distributed it at the end of the show. Young also performed R&B singer Ivory Joe Hunter's 1956 song "Since I Met You Baby" on piano inside the booth. The performance was posted online in The Tonight Show's official website.

Crazy is a ballad written by Willie Nelson in 1961 which was popularized by Patsy Cline. Crazy has been covered by many artists in several genres over the years. Nelson's own version came out on his 1962 album, "And Then I Wrote."

The multi-genre song describes the singer's amusement and confusion of his own helpless love for his affection.
