Google has hinted at the release of Android 4.4.3 KitKat, by issuing an update for its Edu Device Set-Up app, promising support for the update of the new firmware, according to Tech Radar. Edu Device Set-Up app is meant to help schools set up Android tablets for students.

US carrier Sprint had earlier revealed that its Nexus 5 variants would soon receive an upgrade to the much-hyped upcoming operating system.

Sprint revealed on its support page that Android 4.4.3 KitKat update would be rolled out for its Nexus 5 variants, according to Android GeeksHowever, the US carrier claimed on its community page that the announcement was pulled down, due to an issue with the software.

"Due to an issue with the software, this update has been pulled out. Will update this space as soon as a new update is ready to roll out," reads an update by Sprint

"Software version is KTU84F; this update will be rolled out in batches; refer to the Google Nexus 5 Software Update article in Support for install instructions," added the update, under the heading "Important Notes".

It is reported that Android 4.4.3 KitKat OS will fix some bugs found in smartphones. The software may enhance performance and make devices more stable but it is unlikely to come with new features. Several reports claimed that Android 4.4.2 KitKat users are facing issues like reboots, and problems with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity.
