Motorola's flagship smartphone Moto X with Walnut wood-panel variant has reportedly begun selling in India, more than a month after the official launch in the country.

In March, Motorola in partnership with the official e-retailer partner, Flipkart initially sold plastic (poly-carbonate) based black (out-of-stock now), white, red, royal blue and turquoise colored variants for ₹23,999. Then the Teak wood variant shipments began early this month for ₹25,999 and now finally Walnut wood-panel based Moto X has been made available for purchase online.

Unlike the hardware beefed up rivals in the market, Moto X offers rich user-experience with limited internal components. Its unique body design language and the custom Motorola X8 Mobile computing system architecture has received critical acclaim all over the world.

Moto X's two special utility cores - one a natural language processor and the contextual processor enables the device to pull-off some great tricks even the expensive Apple iPhone 5S, the new Samsung Galaxy or the HTC One (M8) cannot boast off.

Natural language processor powers the 'Touchless Control' feature of Moto X, the phone's mic (back & front) are always active (24x7) waiting for user to say the trigger phase 'OK, Google Now' to perform functions like setting an alarm, put reminder on the calendar, ask direction on Google map, play music and many other operations without having to use the finger. Instead the user can just talk to the phone.

Whereas the second special 'Contextual' processor with the help of motion sensors, enables smartphone be self aware of the environment to display time or any notifications on the screen. The device will know when the user takes the phone out of his pocket, or picks up the phone from the desk near to him and then only the select pixels of the display lights up to show the time or any pending notifications without having to unlock the phone, thereby saving battery usage.

Other notable features include water-repellant based nano-coating (inside and outside) and gesture control based camera launch feature (user need not even unlock the phone; they can just launch the camera just by flipping the device twice horizontally).

Just yesterday (22 April), Motorola revealed that the company sold more than 6.5 million devices this quarter. Moto X's cheaper variant Moto G is said to be force behind huge sales in the Q1.
