Indigenous smartphone maker, Lava International Ltd. has unveiled a new mid-range handset Iris 504Q+ with gesture-control features.

The new Lava phone is a successor to Iris 504Q, which was launched in June last year. It has been upgraded in terms of CPU speed, inbuilt storage, camera specification and more gesture-control based tricks.

Lava Iris 504Q+ flaunts a 5.0-inch HD (1280x720p) IPS Screen with OGS (One Glass Solution) technology and runs on the Android v4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 500MHz Mali-400MP2 graphics engine, 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB).

The mid-range phone also boasts 10.0-megapixel Sony IMX179 camera (with LED flash, auto-focus, BSI sensor, full HD video recording), a 2.0-megapixel snapper on the front for video chat and 2000 mAh battery, which can provide power back-up for 200 hours under standby mode.

Key gesture control features include flip to mute the incoming call, shake to answer calls, wave to scroll over the menu, browse photo gallery and change music tracks. Users can also use voice commands to operate the camera and they just need to say 'Cheese' or 'Capture' to snap photos.

Priced just under ₹14,000, Lava Iris 504Q+ will be competing with Motorola Moto G, HTC Desire 310, Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini A200 and others.
