Nintendo Direct recently released an in-depth look at the upcoming Super Smash Bros 4 new characters, trophies and stages. Nintendo surprised everyone with the Super Smash Bros 4 trailer at the end of its Direct announcement. The trailer showcased the new playable Pokémon Charizard, gen 6's Greninja and Lucario in his mega form.

In the past, Super Smash Bros series has been known to bring characters across Nintendo catalogue of games to a single title. This time, that title will come in two different platforms.

Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U and 3DS Release Date

The Super Smash Bros 4 will launch at different periods across Nintendo's consoles. On the 3DS, the Super Smash Bros 4 will release this summer while on the Wii U version, it will be released this winter.

Super Smash Bros 4 New Fighter Charizard

The fire-breathing pocket monster, Charizard is not a new contender but players had never used it solo in the past. Now, Charizard is back as a formidable opponent with its mega form Mega Charizard X.

Super Smash Bros 4 New Fighter Greninja

Greninja is here and it's another reason for gen 6 fans to rejoice. Those who chose water starter in the beginning of the Pokémon X and Y journey must be psyched to see Greninja come to the Super Smash Bros 4 debut. Although Greninja doesn't have a mega form like Charizard, he will hold his own for sure.

Super Smash Bros 4 New Fighter Zero Suit Samus

Zero Suit Samus is back as a stand-alone character with a rocket shoes to attack and recover.

Super Smash Bros 4 New Fighter Sheik

Like Zero Suit Samus, Sheik is back as a stand-alone character but without alterations in its character.

Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U and 3DS Features Stages

The upcoming levels on the Super Smash Bros 4 3DS will be the Spirit Train, Reset Bomb Forest and Rainbow Road. On the Super Smash Bros 4 Wii U, the Mario Galaxy, Pyrosphere and Boxing Ring stages will come. In addition to these new stages, every stage will have a Final Destination version which will allow veteran players to play on an even playing field.
