"Harry prefers LA because he could be a real star over there. He wants a solo career like Justin Timberlake's," an insider told British magazine Heat, reported Independent.

Styles has reportedly bought a property in L.A and this is being considered his first step towards solo singing stardom.

"He's already been writing for Kodaline and [The X Factor USA winners] Alex and Sierra, and recording solo demos. He wants to act, too, and he can't get the real gig if he stays in a boyband that 12 year olds like. He loves 1D, but he feels it could limit his longevity. He asked Kendall [Jenner]: 'How many boybands do you know that keep going for more than five years?", the source added.

Styles has also been offered a movie with the "Glee" star Lea Michelle. Moreover, fans believe that there could be one more reason for Styles relocation to L.A - Kendall Jenner.

Styles and Jenner were involved in a whirlwind romance a month back. However, the couple called it quits due to long distance and work commitments. Staying in L.A may reconnect Style and Jenner.

A source even revealed that Styles is  using his stay in LA as a means to make connection in the industry, which will eventually help him land a solo album in the music industry.

"Harry's making connections - he's not taken seriously in the US yet and he wants desperately to change that. He has the big picture in mind and his bandmates know it. It's a matter of time before he goes solo," reported the website
