Chelsea will look to increase their lead at the top of the English Premier League table when they travel to stubborn-in-defence Crystal Palace.

The Blues have seen their lead cut down to just one point, with Liverpool in second, and Manchester City third, a couple of points further adrift, with a couple of games in hand as well.

Jose Mourinho's team can extend the lead to four points with a win, with City playing Arsenal in the late game on Saturday, and Liverpool hosting Tottenham on Sunday.

"If we win our seven matches we can win the league but I don't know, it depends on Man City, not on us," Mourinho said. "We have to win the seven matches and we have to try one by one, match after match.

"Tomorrow [Saturday] we are going to try to play well and to win the match, it is the only thing we can do, it is the only thing we have been doing for quite a long time. We are playing well and getting results. We have to be optimistic.

"Ours is the most difficult because we play Champions League and they don't. We have to play with two or three days in between and we have to change our focus from the Premier League to the Champions League, go back to the Premier League and then go back to the Champions League for another big game against PSG.

"Liverpool keep going in their perfect season while we have no time to prepare matches like they have. It is a big advantage City have just now and an advantage Liverpool have had since the start of the season."

Chelsea scored a thumping 6-0 victory over Arsenal in their last Premier League game, a result which effectively ended the latter's chances of challenging for the title. With the chase for the Premier League crown looking like a three-horse race now, Mourinho will be wary of dropping any points, especially against teams like Palace, who under Tony Pulis have done well, and will, no doubt, set their stalls out at the back, inviting Chelsea to break their walls down.

"You need a bit of luck and you need players who will relish the challenge," Pulis said. "If you're looking at the two clubs and what they've got and what they haven't got, it's a very uneven contest, but football's a funny old game.

"If we set ourselves up well and give everything we possibly can you never know in this game."

Team news: Crystal Palace: Pulis will have to do without the services of striker Marouane Chamakh and Dwight Gayle, who are out with hamstring and ankle injuries respectively.

Chelsea: Mourinho will have to do without the services of Ashley Cole and Samuel Eto'o. Cole has still not recovered from a knee issue, while Eto'o sustained an injury early in the game against Arsenal, and is a major doubt for the midweek Champions League quarterfinal as well.

Ramires remains suspended following his straight red against Aston Villa, while Marco Van Ginkel is still not ready for first-team action.

Expected lineups: Crystal Palace: Speroni; Mariappa, Dann, Delaney, Ward; Puncheon, Dikgacoi, Jedinak, Ledley, Bolasie; Jerome.

Chelsea: Cech; Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Azpilicueta; Lampard, Matic; Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard; Torres.

Prediction: 2-0 to Chelsea
