Old Trafford has been a sieve for bad results for Manchester United this season, with one loss after another cropping up and making the Theatre of Dreams more like the Stuff of Nightmares.

As David Moyes prepares himself for another outing at Old Trafford, this time against Aston Villa in the English Premier League, he will not only be preparing himself for some possible abuse from the spectators at Old Trafford, but also courtesy a fly-mast to be flown above Old Trafford reading "Wrong One - Moyes Out", paid for by a set of fans in protest.

The two losses to Liverpool and Manchester City, thumping ones, where United were clearly the inferior team, has heightened the sense of discontentment around Old Trafford, and a win over Aston Villa, even a convincing one, might not be enough to act as a soothing balm to the raw wounds that have surfaced ever since Moyes took over from Sir Alex Ferguson, who was incidentally abused by a fan or two for choosing his fellow Scot as his successor following the loss to City on Tuesday.

"We didn't play well in midweek and it was disappointing but going into the game, we'd played well against Olympiakos and against West Ham," Moyes said. "So going into the game against Aston Villa I'd like to get more of the West Ham performance rather than the midweek one.

"The players know exactly what it is to play for Manchester United -- they know the standards they have to set. But they're hurting as well as me and are desperate to put it right. And hopefully when we get to the game against Villa, they can show that."

The trouble with United at home at the moment is the fact that every team come into Old Trafford thinking they can get, at least a draw, and possibly a win, against Manchester United - the fear fact has gone, and with the players also failing to respond with any kind of consistency under Moyes, the results have taken an absolute beating from the Premier League champions' point of view.

Aston Villa will head into the game on Saturday thinking the same thing - we can definitely come away with a win against United -- even if Paul Lambert's men are coming off a disappointing defeat to Stoke City.

"This is a great game to go up there and play," said Lambert, whose side will target being the tenth team this season to come away with at least a point from United's home. "If you don't want to play in this game, then there's something wrong. It's a great football stadium, it has a great history attached to it and there will be a massive crowd.

"You've got to thrive on these sorts of games. We can cause them trouble definitely. Our intent is to win the game. They still have some great, great players there. It's not as if they have become poor players overnight.

"You're probably expecting them to come out firing on all cylinders this weekend but it's our job to try and win and what we can do best is to try and hurt them. That's our intent, to go up there and try and win."

Team news: Manchester United: Robin Van Persie remains on the sidelines for United, but skipper Nemanja Vidic returns from a two-match suspension. Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling are doubts.

Aston Villa: Andres Weimann and Karim El Ahmadi are doubtful starters, while James Okore, Charles NZogbia and Libor Kozak remain ruled out.

Expected lineups: Manchester United: De Gea; Rafael, Jones, Vidic, Evra; Fletcher, Carrick; Valencia, Mata, Welbeck; Rooney.

Aston Villa: Guzan; Lowton, Vlaar, Baker, Bertrand; El Ahmadi, Westwood, Delph; Weimann, Benteke, Agbonlahor.

Prediction: 2-1 to Manchester United
