The first schedule of the film, which will be shot in Chennai, will last for about 15 to 20 days, according to a report in Behindwoods. The website also reports that another popular Tamil actor will be part of the Ajith-Gautham project.

Ever since "Thala 55" was announced, speculations about the film have been on the rise with each passing day. Expectations on the film have hit fever pitch as Ajith has teamed up with Gautham for the first time.

The untitled film, billed as a big-budget entertainer, will reportedly have Anushka Shetty as the female lead. Music composer Harrish Jayaraj is expected to compose the tunes for the film. However, there is no official confirmation on these details.

The film was expected to go on floors in February but was delayed for reasons known. Even before the project could take off, rumour mills are doing the rounds about Ajith's role and other key aspects of the film.

Ajith is reportedly working out to get a slim and toned look, desired for his role. The actor will shed a few kilos but will not sport any six-pack or eight-pack abs.

Earlier, there was buzz that the actor will appear in a new look, unlike his salt-and-pepper hairdo that he has been sporting in the last few films. But it now seems the actor is keen to retain his salt-and-pepper look in the film.

There were reports that Ajith will appear in the role of a cop though there is no official confirmation on the same. Speculations were also rife that Thala would appear in a dual role but it seems that's not the case.

An official announcement on the film's cast and crew details will give more clarity about the project.
