Three teams still have a chance of making the Super 10s of the World T20, and for Zimbabwe to be the team that come out of Friday smiling, they need a massive win over UAE.

Zimbabwe have won one and lost the other, both incredibly close encounters which went to the last ball. As a result their hopes still remain alive, even if destiny is not in their hands.

The Southern African side need to post a huge win over UAE, while hoping Ireland, who have won both their games, trip up against Netherlands, the other team with a slim chance of facing off against the big boys.

Brendan Taylor played a nice 49 to help Zimbabwe to a nerve-jangling victory over the Netherlands in their previous match, with Vusi Sibanda also chipping in with a nine runs towards the end after his captain had been dismissed with the match still on a knife's edge.

"Vusi has been playing international cricket for 10 years, he is a very talented player," Taylor waxed eloquent of his teammate. "Obviously it was not a familiar position that he is used to and something new to him. But we always had faith in him and when the field's up, it does make it a little bit easier."

For the UAE, this match is just about pride and making a final statement before bowing out, just like Hong Kong did so well against Bangladesh on Thursday night.

Having lost their first two matches - to Netherlands and Ireland - UAE will be desperate to finish their World T20 2014 campaign with one win at least.

"The teams that we are playing at the world stage, we have not been exposed to such a stage," UAE captain Khurram Khan said. "So obviously we are going to learn a lot from here and that is what we are doing.

"We already tried working hard since we came from New Zealand [where they were involved in the 50-over World Cup qualifiers). There wasn't enough time to prepare for this tournament but hopefully we will go back and start working hard for the next one."
