The South Korean tech giant is yet to release the pricing details of Samsung Galaxy S5 but UK retailers have decided to set the pre-order price at 699 euros. Vodafone UK will exclusively offer the gold Samsung Galaxy S5 but other standard colors will also be available from this carrier.
Samsung Galaxy S5, which was launched at the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, is tipped to hit the shelves on April 11 in more than 150 countries worldwide. But there are also rumors of possible earlier launch.
Samsung has made no confirmation on this but Vodafone UK's announcement might be the company's move to anticipate a high demand for the gold Samsung Galaxy S5.
In September, when iPhone 5s was released, there were three color options (gold, silver and space gray). When consumers purchased the gold variant of iPhone 5s, it was announced the gold iPhone 5s were limited. The gold variant of the iPhone 5s was then back-ordered for several months. As for Samsung Galaxy S5, consumers who want to have the gold variant know where to find it at least in the UK.
Samsung Galaxy S5 is sporting a "modern glam" look with a textured perforated back panel, which is intended to provide better grip to the device.
Prior to Samsung Galaxy S5 release date, there were rumors of a premium variant with a metal design as the company still opted to outfit its flagships in polycarbonate.
But it must be noted that apart from the brand new design and new color variants, Samsung Galaxy S5 scores an Ingress Protection Rating of IP67, which means the device is dust-proof and water-resistant up to 30 minutes immersion to 1 meter of water.
