England will look to put the pressure on Ireland and France with a victory over Italy in the final round of their 2014 Six Nations campaign.

Stuart Lancaster's men have bounced back brilliantly from an opening round loss to France, beating both Wales and Ireland at home to put them in the reckoning for an epic Six Nations title.

While Ireland remain the favourites owing to their superior point difference, England could sneak in and lift the title come the end of Saturday, when all three matches will be played.

"We reacted well [top the France defeat] and have put ourselves in a position to win the title although we will always look back at the French match and think 'what if,'" Chris Robshaw said.

"This year the pressure has been off us because we lost that first game with France and there wasn't going to be a Grand Slam.

"It has been a massive test of character and resilience to put ourselves in contention.

"The attacking ability of the team has grown incredibly and we go into this game having to control our performance and then, like every other England fan, we will be cheering on France."

England will be without Joe Marler for this crucial encounter with the player expecting the birth of his first child. Mako Vunipola will start for England at loosehead prop against Italy with Matt Mullan earning a place on the bench.

Italy, who will be playing for nothing but pride, will welcome back skipper Sergio Parisse after the experienced No. 8 missed last week's loss to Ireland. Matias Aguero also comes into the starting lineup at the expense of Alberto De Marchi, while Lorenzo Citaddini replaces the injured Martin Castrogiovanni.

"We know when we play the English, you feel it the next day, physically," Italy coach Jacques Brunel said. "We really look at the time of the ball in play to judge the intensity of the game, and England have played three games which have been much more intense than ours.

"We don't want to lose faith in how we want to play the game. We need to know why we lost to Ireland, we've done the analysis but we are going to stick with our game plan. Hopefully we'll be able to carry it out on the pitch.
