Nokia X Android Smartphone to Launch in India on 10 March: Report

Finnish handset firm, Nokia is reportedly launching the recently unveiled company's first ever Android based smartphone, Nokia X in India next week.

Indian arm of Nokia has sent out invites for select media houses to attend the launch events at Mumbai and Delhi on 10 March, The program will be presided by P Balaji, vice-president & MD, Nokia India, reported NDTV Gadgets.

"Nokia India cordially invites you to Xperience a new beginning!" the company invitation said. The word 'Xperience', indirecly emphasising that the event is related to Nokia X.

Earlier in the week, company released Nokia X in Malaysia for 399 Ringgit (approximately ₹7500 in terms of Indian denomination).

With company officially hosting the launch event on Monday (10 March), people are expected to get a clearer picture of the Nokia X's official pricing and availability details including brick-and-mortar stores and online shops of India.

Nokia X was unveiled in the recently concluded MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2014, Barcelona. It sports a 4.0-inch WVGA (800x480p) IPS LCD screen with pixel density of 233 ppi (pixels per inch) and runs on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) OS version titled as Nokia X Software v1.0.

Inside, It packs a 1GHz Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, 512MB RAM, 3.0-megapixel main camera (no flash) on the rear side and a 1500 mAh battery which can power the phone for up to 17 days under standby mode.

Indian e-shop, Saholic has already opened pre-booking window for consumers to place orders on Nokia X for ₹8,499, with a promise of delivering the item by 28 March.
