Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh's role in Zoya Akhtar's upcoming film "Dil Dhadakne Do" has been in the news, with respect to an exclusivity clause signed by the actor.

Reports stated that the "Ram-leela" actor had signed an exclusive deal for the film with producers Excel Entertainment.

The deal reportedly would ensure that Ranveer, who is to be seen as a businessman in the film, will restrict himself to Zoya's project for around four months, and would not appear in any other films or advertisements during that period. This step was taken to keep the actor's look under wraps.

"We want to keep Ranveer's look under wraps. Fortunately for us he has agreed to work exclusively on Dil Dhadakne Do for four-and-half months," Excel head Ritesh Sidhwani told Times of India.

However, Ranveer's spokesperson has now stated otherwise, claiming the contract has no exclusivity clause. The actor "will be shooting for over 75-80 days of the total 90 day schedule of the film," PTI quoted the actor's spokesperson.

Meanwhile, Ranveer is gung-ho about the multi-starrer film. "I am super excited to work with Zoya as I believe she's one of the most talented directors in the industry. Moreover it's a part that really pushes me as an actor and gives me a chance to showcase an aspect of my performance that will surprise my fans," he said.

Zoya's "Dil Dhadakne Do" stars Ranveer, along with Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma and Farhan Akhtar. Anil Kapoor is also expected to feature in the film, which is to start rolling this year.

While Ranveer and Priyanka are rumoured to play siblings, Anushka will reportedly play Ranveer's love interest.
