The PS3 new collection will put "Tomb Raider" as a free game as well as "Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons." "Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD" and "Smart As!" will come on the PS Vita.
Before March 5 ends, gamers should try to catch "Outlast," "Metro Last Light," "Guacamelee!" (cross buy), "Dynasty Warriors Next" and "ModNation Racers Road Trip" before they are replaced with the March selection.
'Killzone: Shadow Fall' is Free Starting March 4
For those who haven't subscribed to the PS Plus but have been dying to try out "Killzone: Shadow Fall" to see if the game alone is worth getting a subscription, Sony is giving gamers a chance to try it out for free.
Starting March 4, the PS4 exclusive can be played as a multiplayer game even if gamers don't have a PS Plus membership. According to developer Guerilla Games, this is in celebration of the upcoming release of the first Free Map DLC of "Killzone: Shadow Fall," arriving at the same time as the start of the week-long free multiplayer run.
"That's not all---for this free multiplayer access week, we are prepping special Warzones for you to play the just the new maps, and compete on global leaderboards for Capture and Team Deathmatch game modes," said the developer.
For those interested, pre-load is possible for both Europe and North America, and gamers can begin downloading starting March 3, 5 pm PST. Check out the official Web site here.
A Gameplay Video and a Dev Diary for 'The Order: 1886'
"The Order: 1886" finally gains a gameplay video that shows off a bit of the action involved in the game. The video below can be a sort of recompense for the other videos that have failed to show what the player would be doing in the game.
There's a lot of shooting and fighting involved, but it still feels as though a movie is taking place in front of gamers' eyes. Perhaps, this is the kind of video game storytelling that blends in with the actual gameplay, one that's seamless enough to not take players away from the zone whenever a cutscene would pop up.
At the same time, there is still the undoubtedly cinematic approach of the game, which the developers have confirmed a 30 FPS run for. The PlayStation Blog has recently posted a dev diary for "The Order: 1886," where Ru Weerasuriya talked about the history and capability of the game.
"This order of knights was a direct result of this war that was going on. It wasn't the lore as you know it. The half-breeds are really a sub-species of what humanity becomes after a few centuries of evolving in a different direction," said Mr Weerasuriya.
According to the creative director and co-founder of Ready At Dawn, the setting was also examined and ensured to let the environment of the game thrive. This is the reason why London was picked to be where everything happens.
"We wanted to depict London the way people knew London, but at the same time, when you look at that skyline, give it a twist by having those watch towers up in the skyline," said Mr Weerasuriya. "At the same time as people would believe a London, they would also question it by seeing that imagery."
In terms of maximising its run on the PS4, Mr Weerasuriya adds that "The Order: 1886" is the studio's vision of what a game on the next-gen console and what next-gen gaming should be all about.
