Liverpool will look to keep the pressure on Chelsea and Arsenal when they visit Southampton in the English Premier League.

The Reds have shown they are definite title contenders with a tremendous run, with the likes of Luis Suarez, Daniel Sturridge and Raheem Sterling making the Merseyside team one of the most exciting teams to watch in the English Premier League.

Liverpool, fourth with 56 points, four behind leaders Chelsea - which could become seven if the Blues beat Fulham in the earlier game -- will again look to turn on the style against Southampton.

"When I came in, it was one of the key focuses -- we wanted to score more goals and improve our attacking game," Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers told the club's official website. "To be the leading team in terms of goals is a great credit to the work of the players and their attitude in the game.

"Of course, we've got areas we want to improve and the overall balance of the team, but that will come. Most importantly, we're winning games at this point in time and that's what it's about.

"It's great for the supporters to dream [about winning the title], and it's brilliant being around the city and listening to people talk. I sense a real excitement and anticipation, and they deserve that.

"That's what the supporters of Liverpool need to have at this stage of a season - their team challenging and fighting.

"For us, we're very calm, we're focused on what it is we need to achieve and we just go into every day looking to maximise the most we can out of our training. Hopefully then we can take that confidence into our games."

While Liverpool managed a thrilling 4-3 win over Swansea last weekend, Southampton were dire in a 3-1 defeat to West Ham. Questions have been raised over Southampton's motivation for the final 11 games of the season, with the club safe from relegation, while holding little chance of finishing in one of the European places.

"We're always balanced in the way that we react to our victories and our defeats," Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino said. "We always give 100 percent in our work ethic, especially after a defeat such as that, in the training ground I mean, and the team is always very motivated to get back from a defeat like that and get back to winning ways.

"We were very disappointed and angry after the West Ham game, because we were one-nil up, we were doing quite well, we were controlling the game very well, and from a clear offside we conceded the 1-1 and that changed everything for us.

"I don't think the season's over. I disagree with that assessment. The motivation is always there to play well, to get the three points tomorrow, especially against a very tough team that's actually a candidate to win the Premier League, a candidate that's looking to get into the Champions League.

"We also have the motivation to recover the position that we lost last week against West Ham. We have that massive motivation inside of us to recover that position."

Team news: Southampton: Pochettino does not have too many injury worries, with Jos Hooiveld, Victor Wanyama and Dejan Lovren the only doubts heading into the game.

Liverpool: Defender Mamadou Sakho could make a return from a knee injury, while the game comes too soon for Lucas Leiva, despite the Brazilian midfielder's return to training. Jose Enrique and Sebastian Coates remain sidelined.

Key men: Southampton: After getting an England call-up for the first time, Luke Shaw will be determined to prove just why he has caught the attention of Roy Hodgson, while Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez will also want to show they are good enough to make the World Cup squad for Brazil, after also being named in the 30-man squad for the Denmark friendly.

Liverpool: Suarez has not scored too many goals of late, and the Saints could be in for a long evening if the Uruguayan takes his frustration out on his opponents come Saturday.

Expected lineups: Southampton: Boruc; Chambers, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Cork; Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Rodriguez; Lambert.

Liverpool: Mignolet; Flanagan, Skrtel, Sakho, Johnson; Henderson, Gerrard, Coutinho; Sturridge, Suarez, Sterling.

Prediction: 2-1 to Liverpool
