The announcement came a few days after Perry's "Dark Horse" video came under criticism for hurting religious sentiments of a certain community and rumors of her breakup with boyfriend John Mayer.

For now, the 29-year-old singer is happy with her latest stunt of helping deliver a baby in a living room, and she took to Twitter to express her joy.

Perry did not reveal the identity of the woman she helped but it is believed to be her elder sister Angela Hudson, reported E!Online.

The pop singer has been going through a hard time both in her personal and professional life, following the alleged split from boyfriend Mayer, and the controversy around her latest music video “Dark Horse.”

An online campaign, signed by thousands of Muslims around the world, to remove her “Dark Horse” music video from YouTube had gathered steam of late. It is alleged that a certain portion of the video is blasphemous. Campaigners are against a particular scene that shows a man wearing a pendent with the word “Allah” being burned.

“At 01:15 into the video "Dark Horse", a man is shown being burned, whilst wearing a pendant (also burned) forming the word 'Allah', which is the arabic word for God,” the petition on Change.org stated.

“Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames,” it added.

Now, the controversial scene has been edited and the pendant is not seen in the new version.
