Gionee Elife S5.5, World's Slimmest Smartphone Coming to India in March: Report

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee's latest offering Elife S5.5 will reportedly reach Indian shores in March.
Chinese technology major, Gionee has released a budget phablet GPad G3 in India via online stores.
The smartphone that made its appearance at the 2014 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona is headed for India, reported The Indian Express. Gionee Elife S5.5, which is claimed to be the world's slimmest smartphone sports 5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display and runs on an Android-based Amigo OS.
Inside, the smartphone packs 1.7GHz quad-core CPU and 2GB of RAM, along with 16Gb of internal storage. In terms of its image shooter, it comes equipped with, 13-megapixel rear snapper and a 5-megapixel front camera for video calls with 95 degree wide angle.
A notable feature of this thinnest smartphone is its 2300mAh battery, which claims to keep the phone charged for a whole day. The phone measures 5.5mm thin and is likely to be available in 3G and LTE versions. The 3G models of the smartphone are currently available for preorder in China for around $370.
The company recently revealed its Gpad G4 and M2 in India. The phablet sports a 5.7-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek 6589T quad-core processor, paired with PowerVR SGX 544MP2 GPU. Other features include Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, 13 megapixel autofocus rear camera, 5 megapixel front-facing camera and 3200 mAh battery.
On the other hand, the M2 sports a 5-inch display with a FWVGA (480x854 pixels) resolution and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex A7 processor, along with a Mali 400MP GPU. It comes equipped with an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2 megapixel front-facing camera.
