The date has been set for the return of "Orange is the New Black" for the much awaited Season 2. Netflix will release all the episodes of Season 2 on June 06, 2014. During the filming and post-filming of Season 2, almost all the Orange actors had echoed a similar sentiment, that the writing of Season 2 is better than Season 1. This may have something to do with all the characters getting equal focus in the new season, as "ensemble" is the word for "Orange is the New Black" Season 2 story-line.
Jackie Cruz, who plays the character of Marisol "Flaca" Gonzales, had compared each episode of the new season to what Christmas feels like. She had said to Latina: "It's going to be amazing. Every episode is going to be wow! All I can tell you is that every episode is like Christmas."
The focus of the story will no longer centre on Piper Chapman. However, this has not disappointed Taylor Schilling, as she believes the new season is richer and compelling. The actress said to Huffington Post: "I think all of the characters and all the dynamics are just going deeper. Everybody is getting...it's just getting fuller and richer, and to me, more compelling because we kind of know these women more, so we can dive more deeply into who they are."
Uzo Aduba had said to Huffington Post that they have exciting stories to tell in the upcoming season, and she cannot wait for people to see it. Danielle Brooks, who plays Taystee, has been promoted to series regular in Season 2. In an interview with E! Online, she, too, confirmed the "really good" factor of Season 2. The actress expects that the Season 2 will make the fans excited.
When asked by E! Online whether he is stripping down again in the upcoming season, Matt McGorry neither denied nor confirmed. He said to E! Online, "I don't know if I could give any of that away. I don't know if I can tell you any of that."
However, the actor, who plays the hot prison guard, John Bennett, said that his character will "sweat a lot."
"Orange is the New Black" Season 2 is set to reveal the back-stories of all the colourful inmates. One can expect to discover new truths and secrets.
