"American Idol" 2014 has finally reached the live shows phase. However, the performances were not as impressive as the auditions or Hollywood Week.

The AI 2014 Top 10 girls were the first to perform. The nerve-wracking manner by which they were asked to perform appears to have affected their vocal chops. Nonetheless, MK Nobilette and Majesty Rose managed to shine. Could these two girls battle it out against the likes of CJ Harris, Ben Briley, and Sam Woolf in the Top 10 finalists?

Majesty Rose sang Pharrell Williams' "Happy" with such a bubbly vibe about her, such that many viewers found her engaging, if not adorable. She has been one of the early fan favourites from city auditions.

MK Nobilette covered John Legend's "All of Me" in such a quiet, calm yet compelling number. She has delivered far better performances in the taped episodes of American Idol 2014. But if she's one of the best at her worst (assuming her nerves got the better of her this time), then the other female contenders this year.

MK, incidentally, is the first openly gay Idol contestant on the Idol show. She has been open and proud from the get-go. Her social media channels hide nothing, too.

"Yooo that MK Nobilette girl is winning American Idol hands down!" Twitter user @SRswaggdout shouted out during the broadcast of American Idol 2014 Rush Week.

Battling nerves as a result of the on-the-spot trimming of the Top 15 girls ahead of the live performances did not do well for the girls. With new executive producer Per Blankens comes new "tricks." As far as general performances go, the first American Idol 2014 live show aka #IdolRushWeek is quite a failure.

It must be said, however, that American Idol 2014 judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr make quite a pleasant sight at the panel this year. FOX could only hope for the viewers to stay hopeful for the Top 10 male Idol contestants live performances.

CJ Harris, Ben Briley, and Sam Woolf are among the AI 2014 boys most mentioned in social networks this year. Could one of them match Majesty Rose's or MK's performance?
