Samsung has been preparing for a series of releases this 2014. Aside from the Samsung Galaxy S5, the company has also reportedly been gearing up for the release of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. The Galaxy Tab 4 will be launching with the Galaxy Gear 2 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. According to recent reports, the new tablet series will feature a quad core CPU, Android KitKat including 64GB memory. The market should expect three new additional tablets to the Samsung line: the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1, Galaxy Tab 4 8.0, and Galaxy Tab 4 7.0.
As their names imply, the Galaxy Tab Series tabs will be available in three sizes: 7 inches, 8 inches and 10.1 inches. The Galaxy Tab 8.0 will be available in two variants: LTE and WiFi models. All of the reported slates run on quad-core processors clocked at 1.2 Ghz. Different from the Note series, the Tab series will not feature active digitizers of styli. These should bring the price of the slates lower.
Specifically, the 10.1-inch variant will sport a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, 16GB internal memory and 1.5GB RAM. It will also have an 8MP primary camera and 3MP front camera. The device will feature a 6800mAh battery.
The 8-inch model, on the other hand, runs on a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor and features 16GB internal storage and 1GB RAM. The device will run on a 6800mAh battery. It will feature a 3MP primary camera and 1.3MP front camera. The 7-inch vibrant runs on the same processor and features the same RAM. However, it does have smaller screen, battery at 4450mAh and storage at 8GB.
All three devices will sport 1280 x 800 displays. They will also feature 64GB capacity microSD card slots for extra storage. Samsung's Galaxy Tab 4 line will run on Android 4.4 KitKat, unless Samsung makes some last minute changes. Depending on the region, the devices may be offered in 3G, 4G and WiFi-only models.
According to TabletPCReview, the Korean tech giant will likely announce mode details about the tab series during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
