Micromax Releases Funbook P280 Android Tablet In India; Price And Specs Details

Indigenous tech firm Micromax has released a new Android tablet in the Indian market, dubbed Funbook P280, with a price tag of 4,650.

The Micromax Funbook P280 tablet sports 7-inch TFT display, with 800x480 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1GHz Cortex-A8 processor paired with 512MB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and comes with 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable by upto 32GB with microSD card.

The tablet houses 0.3-megapixel VGA front-facing camera and supports the connectivity features like Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and 3G via dongle. It comes loaded with 2400mAh battery, which claims up to 250 hours of standby time and preloaded apps such as Spuul, Opera Mini, Kingsoft Office and M!Live.

"Owing to the increased consumption of entertainment on mobile devices, we have tried to provide users with their one stop entertainment device with the Funbook P280. At Micromax, we have always aimed to empower a large consumer base in the country by offering them innovative devices reinforcing our commitment to democratize and massify technology. We are confident that the Funbook P280 would further strengthen our leadership pursuit in the tablet PC market," Vikas Jain, Co-Founder, Micromax said at the launch, according to NDTV Gadget.

The handset is available for purchase in India and this newly released budget tablet will take on the likes of India's own Aakash tablet.
