Bollywood's young gun Varun Dhawan's Govinda act in his upcoming film "Main Tera Hero" has lapped up a positive response. The trailer of the film has gone viral and amassed massive hits on YouTube.

The trailer of the film published on 23 January has fetched over 2.2 million hits in a week, joining the likes of "Dhoom 3" and "Krrish 3."

'Main Tera Hero" appears to be a typical Bollywood masala film with Varun in the lead, along with Ileana D'cruz and Nargis Fakhri. The colourful trailer that might remind many of Govinda in his heyday has the actor working with his director father David Dhawan for the first time.

The trailer laden with crisp and funny dialogues, presents Varun as the titular hero who will be seen sweeping his heroines off their feet. Glimpses of hilarious sequences, entertaining fight scenes and preppy songs have only added to its flavour. To top it, the actor's remarkable and lucid dance moves have scored him the edge.

Meanwhile, Varun gives full credit to his father for the positive response that the film has received. "Honestly, I am seeing all this euphoria around the promo more as a David Dhawan's fan than as his son or least of all, as an actor of the film," he told Bollywood Hungama.

"When a film has the name David Dhawan attached to it, it doesn't matter who is the hero, whether it is me or anyone else... Now with the kind of mad response that 'Main Tera Hero' promo has fetched, I have realized the reach of his cinema," he added.

"Main Tera Hero" has been produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Films and is scheduled to release on 4 April.
