How I Met Your Mother" 200th episode called " How Your Mother Met Me" will finally be aired on CBS tonight. The episode is from the mother's perspective and the makers of the show believe that it is one of the best episodes of the series by far. The mother is played by Cristin Milioti. In an interview with TV.Yahoo.com, Craig Thomas, the co-creator of the show said, "The episode is wonderful. If she [Cristin Milioti] doesn't get nominated for a guest Emmy for this episode, I don't know what one has to do to get that."
"How I Met Your Mother" kick started in 2005 and in spite of being pitted against "Dancing With The Stars" and "The Voice" the show managed to build its loyal audience, thanks to its multilayered narrative and flashback sequences.
There are only few sitcoms in history of Hollywood TV who have managed to woo the fans till 200th episode and Neil Patrick Harris (Barney) feels that it is surreal to reach such a milestone as when the show started it was always on the verge of cancellation.
"I didn't think there would be an episode 100," said Neil Patrick Harris, adding, "Even despite "hard work and great circumstances, it's all very random that we get to be here as our show was against the show that was similar and better."
Even Jason Segel (Marshal) believes that is "It's an unbelievable gift". "I'd only been a part of failed TV shows prior to this. Ones that I loved - 'Freaks and Geeks' didn't make it a full season, 'Undeclared' just went one season. I went in with the mentality that you try to do the best job that you can, and longevity is separate. There are so many different factors," continued the actor.
Regarding the finale episode, Craig Thomas told Hollywood Reporter magazine, "I think we just wrote the rhythm of the show that we wanted to see.We were never really the kind of writers who wrote big 15-page scenes. We think very cinematically and have been really influenced by guys like Quentin Tarantino. We wanted to see if we could take that aesthetic and put it on the multicam format."
"How I Met Your Mother" Season 9 Finale airs tonight at CBS. Don't miss it.
