"Yaan", directed by cameraman-turned-director Ravi K Chandran, is an upcoming action thriller starring Jiva and Thulasi Nair of "Kadal" fame. The film's shooting began as soon as Thulasi wrapped up "Kadal" but there is no news of its release.
On 24 January, the film was reported to resume its second schedule and was gearing for a December release. But Chandran announced on the film's Facebook page that they are heading to Morocco to shoot for the remaining three songs and their visa process is delaying their schedule. If sources are to be believed, the film had completed its third schedule in May last year and since then the shooting has been stalled.
The film's crew had stated that "Yaan" will be released in November. Earlier this month, Chandran said that 75 percent of the shooting has been completed and they will resume the schedule as soon as possible.
It was also rumoured that the shooting was stalled due to Thulasi taking a break to write her exams.
"Yaan", a multi-lingual film, will reportedly be made in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages. Harris Jeyraj is the music director and Oscar winner Resul Pookutty is the sound mixer.
The film is expected to see Jiva in a completely different avatar and in impressive action sequences. For Thulasi, "Yaan" comes as a much-needed hit as her dream debut in Mani Ratnam's "Kadal" bombed at the box office.
