After months of rumors, the much anticipated Sony Xperia Z1 mini international variant has finally made its debut at the ongoing International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2014.

Sony's new device has been tentatively titled as Xperia Z1 Compact; the appendage 'Compact' only relates to its size. The company has successfully crammed all the high-end internal features seen inside its marquee sibling Xperia Z1 in to the small confines of the smartphone, unlike rival smartphone makers such as Samsung and HTC who not only compromise the size but also its internal hardware, totally undermining the tag mini flagship device.

Sony Xperia Z1 Compact sports 4.3-inch display HD (720x1280p) screen with TRILUMINOS display technology, X-Reality for mobile picture engine and Sony BRAVIA Engine 2.

Under the hood, it features v4.3 Jelly Bean OS, 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU, Adreno 330, 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 64GB).

In terms of camera specifications, it packs a 20.7megapixel snapper on the back with  G Lens, intelligent BIONZTM - mobile image processing engine , LED flash, Sony Exmor RS mobile image sensor, HDR, 8 X zoom and a 2.0-megapiuxel camera on front with full HD video recording ability.

To further enhance photography experience, it comes loaded with an array of value-added smart-camera applications such as time-shift burst mode (allows users to snap 61 pictures in two seconds), Sweep Panorama, Social Live (it lets users to broadcast live video on social platform like Facebook), Info-eye feature, AR Effect feature, which lets user to put 'Augmented Reality' scenarios on to a picture to make a funny short-video clips.

Sony has confirmed that the new Xperia Z1 Compact will be made globally available in February, however the price details are still under wraps.

Along with Xperia Z1 Compact, Sony also unveiled the exclusive (T-Mobile) America bound Xperia Z1s.
