The year 2013 has some of the biggest stories in sports. It has been an impressive year all across the sporting world. IBT Sports looks back at some of the most memorable moments that have happened in sports. So before we finally bid farewell to 2013, we would like to present to you the top 10 unforgettable moments in sports.

Boston Marathon Tragedy

The Boston Marathon tragedy is one of the biggest tragedies in the history of sports in America.  On April 15, 2013, two bombs exploded near the finish line during the marathon. Three spectators were killed and at least 264 people were injured at the scene. The Boston Marathon is a running event held every year on Patriot's Day. It is the most storied marathon in the U.S.

Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals

Who could forget the heart-stopping game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals between San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat? It was truly an epic game of basketball. Even non-basketball fans felt the excitement as the Spurs tried to win their fifth title. There were a lot of twists and turns. Then, there was Ray Allen's miracle three-point shot and Lebron James finished the job. Heat tied the series by beating the Spurs, 103-100 in overtime. Andy Murray Winning the Wimbledon

Andy Murray winning Wimbledon is also one of the greatest moments in sports. Murray won his first Wimbledon after beating Novak Djokovic and ended Britain's 77-year wait to win the title. Murray became the first-ever British man to win the men's title in Wimbledon since 1936. He defeated the Serbian athlete with 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 victory.

Lance Armstrong Doping Confession

Lance Armstrong has faced relentless allegations of doping and he has finally come out clean by confessing in an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Armstrong has repeatedly lied about doping for many years. After his confession, he was stripped of all Tour de France medals and banned from competing for life.

Aaron Hernandez

Aaron Hernandez, who last played for the National Football Team (NFL) New England Patriots, was charged with first-degree murder and five gun-related charges. If he is found guilty, he could be facing a possibility of life without parole. The Patriots let Hernandez go only a few hours after he was arrested. Hernandez pled not guilty of the said crime on Sept. 6, 2013.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich had an amazing 2013 season. It became the most dominant club for the 2012-2013 season in soccer. The club began the season with a nine-game winning streak ending it by winning Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League, and DFB-Pokal. Bayern Munich became the first German club to accomplish "The Treble" which is the term used to refer to a team winning three trophies in just one season.

Adam Scott

Aussie professional golfer Adam Scott won his first major championship in the 2013 Masters Tournament. It was the first time that an Australian golfer won the Masters. His victory moved him in the third position in golf world rankings.

Mayweather Beat the Hell out of Guerrero

Mayweather bagged an effortless victory over Robert Guerrero. His hand speed has pummeled Guerrero with solid straight hooks and shots. Watch the video of the highlights between Mayweather and Guerrero.
