"Uyyala Jampala", starring newcomers Raj Tarun and Avika Gor - who played Anandi in TV serial "Chinnari Pellikooturu", is a cute love story set in the backdrop of a village.

Soori (Raj) and Uma Devi (Avika) are cousins who grew up in the same neighbourhood. They are poles apart and share a kind of love-hate relationship. The film's story is about how they realise their love for each other.

Critics have termed the film as a simple, good-natured love story backed by neat performances by the lead actors. They have also appreciated the technical aspects of the film.

"Uyyala Jampala" is directed by Virinchi Varma, while the film is produced by Nagarjuna. Its music is composed by Sunny MR.

Here is the review roundup of "Uyyala Jampala"

Karthik Pasupulate of The Times of India says, "The writing is clean and entertaining while the music and cinematography also pack in enough innocence and freshness to keep you hooked. Whether you like it or not, you wouldn't feel too bad about the time spent on watching it."

"If romance is your genre of choice then this movie will leave you with a good feeling in the end," he says.

Raja Satish of desimartini says, "Uyyala Jampala is a 'no frills attached' love story. The moments of innocence and inventiveness surprise you. The predictable factor in the film takes a detour when it doesn't culminate into a tear-jerking finale. The film is like a gentle breeze, which greets you early in the morning amid chlorophyll soaked landscapes."

Jeevi of idlebrain says, "It's been a long time since we saw a commercially acceptable small budgeted pure/sweet love story that is packaged well and presented it to the movie lovers with proper release strategy. 'Uyyala Jampala' reminds me most of recent successes of small budgeted films from Yashraj Films (Band Baja Barat etc)."

"Plus points of the film are freshness, casting, performances, entertainment, direction and sensibility. Uyyala Jampala is a sweet love story and a family entertainer. You may watch it."

Gulte says, "Uyyala Jampala has its share of weaknesses but it has some pleasant and sweet moments that will leave you with a 'feel good' impression. Youthful films are mainly focusing on the urbane romance these days. But we still have lovable and cute couples in villages and their love is as natural and as clean as the village greenery. 'Uyyala Jampala' brings one of those cute village couples on to the screen and it is a delight to watch their love story."

Mahesh S Koneru of 123telugu says, "'Uyyala Jampala' is a small and cute little romantic film that will make you smile at the end. There are good emotional scenes and fine performances in the film that offset some of the issues like a flat first half. If you are looking for a clean family entertainer this weekend, look no further."

Verdit: breezy love story worth watching
