"The Blacklist" is scheduled to return with a new episode on January 13, 2014. The episode 11 will bring back Red from his short break. There is likely to be a familiar face on the blacklist. Is it Tom? It looks unlikely, as Tom's mystery is one of the biggest mysteries of "The Blacklist" and the writers may not unmask him so early in the first season. The synopsis of episode 11 "The Good Samaritan Killer," suggests that a serial killer from Liz's past strikes.

In episode 9 of "The Blacklist, "Anslo Garrick," Anslo Garrick had killed Luli when Red did not come out of the glass box. As reported earlier, Red will be determined to avenge Luli's death. He will also try to find out who helped Garrick from the inside. According to TV Guide Scoop, Red is likely to take down anyone and everyone associated with the raid. There is also a chance of a mole in the FBI office, which makes everyone a suspect.

Perhaps, the suspect list might not have the name of Agent Ressler. He had injured his leg while saving Red. The two had bonded while locked inside the box. Agent Ressler owes his life to Red. We might get to see new equation between Red and Agent Ressler.

In the upcoming, new episode, Agent Ressler will have a new friend -- a cane. E! Online Scoop reports that Agent Ressler will be back in action when "The Blacklist" returns in January, with a cane as support. The cane won't stop him from "chasing down perps, getting shot at, trading quips with Liz, and more."

Before the airing of episode 9, Ryan Eggold, who portrays Liz's husband, Tom Keene, had said to The Huffington Post, "This episode will definitely change Diego's [Agent Ressler] character permanently, which is awesome."

Official brief synopsis of Episode 11, "The Good Samaritan Killer,": "A serial killer from Liz's past strikes again while Red hunts for whoever betrayed him. Alan Alda guest stars."

"The Blacklist" has been renewed for second season.
