'The X Faxtor' USA 2013 came to an end on Thursday, after weeks of stiff competition with the crowning of this season's champions.

Host Mario Lopez announced Alex & Sierra as the winners of this season on Thursday. The victory was anticipated, after they recieved overwhelming response on iTunes, with two of their songs hitting No.1 on the chart. The winners went home with $1 million and a recording contract with Sony.

The emotional Alex & Sierra sang A Great Big World's "Say Something" after winning the title. They were joined by top 13 contestants of this season.

Rocker Jeff Gutt, 37, came second and Carlito Olivero, 24, third.

"I feel like Christmas came early. Jeff, big respect. You did brilliant in the final, but my heart was with these guys. I genuinely think they deserve it. Thank you, America," said Simon Cowell after his group won this this title.

Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton thanked everybody who voted for them. "We're speechless. We don't even know. This is incredible. Thank you, everybody who's voted," said Kinsey.

Gutt, who put up an inspiring show this season, was gracious in defeat, congratulating the winners - Alex & Sierra - and promising to make records. He also thanked the audience and wished them a "Merry Christmas".

Earlier in the show, top 13 of this season hit the stage for U2's "One" and Jeff Gutt joined Alex & Sierra for John Newman's "Love Me Again." Bringing the spirit of the season to the show, the three finalists sang a Christmas song each.
