God bless technology. God bless Skype. Kelly Rowland has gone public with her engagement to Tim Witherspoon. Yes, he has finally put a ring on it. The ex-Destiny's Child singer shared the news behind the rock on her finger in an interview on December 18 on "The Queen Latifah Show."

""He asked me first on Skype," said Kerry during the interview.

"I was like, 'We're so far away from each other,'" explained Kerry. The "X Factor" judge revealed that she was in Bulgaria at that time.

"There's nothing like getting engaged in Bulgaria," joked Latifah. "It's the happiest thing that happened in Bulgaria that day."

The couple kept their engagement a secret for a very long time. "We've kept it very, very low -- for years, to be completely honest,"

Kerry Rowland didn't take much time to seal the deal.

"I remember we were both just kinda staring at each other, and he asked me," told Rowland.

"It was just that simple to say yes."

"I was like, 'I got my best friend to ride through life with.' He really is my best friend."

Before making the engagement official at "The Queen Latifah Show," Kerry flashed the ring at the Jay-Z concert.  The singer and Tim Witherspoon were spotted at the concert in Los Angeles on December 9.

Reports say Tim Witherspoon has been with Kerry since 2011. On the internet, Tim Witherspoon was known as "Tim Weatherspoon." Various journalists and bloggers misspelled the name while writing about Kerry and Tim.

According to SandraRose.com, Tim was the one who forced Kerry to fire Devyne Stephen who had been manager her. Tim and Devyne co-managed Kerry.

"Tim was co-managing Kelly with Devyne," said the source to SandraRose.com.

"If you notice, he's always in pictures with her. A lot of people may not know [he's her boyfriend] because he's more like an average Joe. He's not well-known. But she really loves him,"

So, will you propose via Skype? Do you think it is a good idea?
