"Especially early on you look at him (Cumberbatch) and you think that's an extraordinary face and later you think: 'God, he's gorgeous' and success sits very well on his shoulders now I think and that has added another layer to his appeal I think," said the actress, as quoted by Radio Times.

Stubbs also said that Sherlock sees Ms Hudson as a mother. "He (Sherlock) loves me as a Mum and he is probably grateful I'm looking after him."

The actress also joked that in the upcoming season of "Sherlock" that her role is "barmy." She said that earlier her character used to be "Kooky."

Benedict Cumberbatch will return as Sherlock Holmes on January 01, 2014. The premiere episode, "The Empty Hearse," will pick up two years after Sherlock's fake death.
