Their car collided head-on with another vehicle. As per the paramedics, both vehicles were left 'mangled beyond recognition' post the accident.

The authorities added that a 15-year-old teenager, who had hitch-hiked in the other vehicle with a friend, was also killed. The driver of this vehicle has been recovering in a hospital and is likely to face a charge of culpable homicide.

As per the report, some 600 guests had attended the couple's wedding on Sunday. The Indian community in Durban was shocked by the news and many gathered outside the family's house to offer their condolences, as the couple was cremated together.
