LG and Lenovo are both struggling in the smartphone race. This year 2013, LG released its flagship G2 and Lenovo presented Vibe X in answer to Samsung S4, Sony Xperia Z1, HTC One, and iPhone 5s. Which of the two has a better chance at snagging the best smartphone title of the year?
LG G2 is smaller but thicker in terms of dimension at 138.5 x 70.9 x 8.9 mm compared to Lenovo Vibe X at 144 x 74 x 6.9 mm. Though G2 is smaller, it is remarkably heavier at 142.88 g than Vibe X which is only 121 g in weight.
Noteworthy of the aesthetic difference is the on/off and volume buttons placement. While Vibe X went with the tradition of putting the snooze and volume adjustment buttons on the side of the phone, G2 deviated by placing said buttons on the rear. According to LG, this is to make adjusting the volume easier while making a call.
Screen and Display
Astonishingly, G2 has a wider screen of 5.2 inches despite being smaller. Vibe X has the 5-inch screen which most smartphones have.
Both phones are sporting a full-HD resolution of 1, 920 x 1, 080 pixels. But, Vibe X has greater pixel density of 441ppi while G2 only has 424ppi. Expect a crispier display from Vibe X.
Vibe X is run by a quad-core Cortex A7 1.5GHz processor with 2GB of RAM. This is inferior compared to G2 which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.26GHz processor with 2GB of RAM.
Vibe X is slightly sluggish when browsing through the screen despite its quad-core processor. LG's flagship is smoother and faster to operate.
Both smartphones possess a decent camera unit with a 13 MP sensor. The big difference is with the front camera. Vibe X has a 5 MP front camera which is great for selfie, according to Lenovo.
G2 is packed with a superior battery of 3, 000 mAh while Vibe X only possess a 2, 000 mAh battery. For watching videos, G2 can last for 4.3 hours.
G2 is available for as low as $489 while Vibe X is available at $555.56.
The Ultimate Decree
Aesthetically, Vibe X' sleek and slim body looks more attractive. But, in terms of performance, G2 is better and is available at a lower price.
