Tottenham Hotspur have already begun negotiations with Ajax manager Frank De Boer after confirming the departure of Andre Villas-Boas, reports in Spain claim.

Spurs have parted ways with the Portuguese boss after the humiliating 5-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

Spanish Daily AS claims they have already held talks with the current Ajax boss and also with former England manager Fabio Capello, who is currently coaching Russia.

De Boer was a successful centre-back who won the Champions League with Ajax and also played for Barcelona.

The 43-year-old manager retired in 2006 and went into management with the Ajax youth team. During the 2010 World Cup he was the assistant to Bert Van Marwijk with the Dutch National Team that reached the final and in December 2010 he took over the Ajax first team.

In two and a half seasons at Ajax, he had won three Eredivisie titles and in 2013 received the Rinus Michels Award for Dutch manager of the year.

Totenham's defeat by Liverpool on Sunday was their worst at White Hart Lane in 16 years, leaving Spurs seventh in the Premier League, eight points behind Arsenal and five adrift of the top four.

Villas-Boas had come under increasing pressure in recent weeks, especially after his side lost 6-0 against Manchester City in November.

Former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo, Swansea coach Michael Laudrup and Tottenham's current academy director Tim Sherwood have also been linked with the job.
