The recently announced Nokia Lumia 525 smartphone is now offered in the Nokia stores in Singapore with a price of SG$249, according to the GSMArena report. The Windows Phone handset successor is expected to follow the footsteps of the low-priced Nokia Lumia 520 with its more complete operating system experience.

Aside from Singapore, the Windows Phone Central reports that Vietnam offers as well the Nokia Lumia 525 with 3,499,000 VND or approximately US$164. At that price, the Nokia Lumia 525 in Vietnam will also come with an insurance that is worth 7,000,000 VND or approximately US$329.

The insurance consists of either device repair or replacement for the damage caused by water or fall which is valid within 12 months of purchase. "The fine print states it won't cover several things such as losses as a result of war, invasion, nuclear risks, or state of emergency," the report reads.

The Nokia Lumia 525 smartphone features a 4-inch IPS LCD screen display with 800x480p resolution, a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 5MP rear-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for photos or videos and 8GB internal storage capacity that can be expanded up to 64GB through the microSD card slot with free 7GB of SkyDrive storage.

The new Windows Phone handset includes 1GB of RAM compared to the 512MB in the Nokia Lumia 520 which means more compatibles games and apps can be run on the device. Other features and specs are the power of a 1430mAh battery capable of offering talk time of up to 10 hours on 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity and Windows Phone 8 OS with the Lumia Black update.

The Nokia Lumia 525 users can use the Nokia apps like Smart Camera, HERE Maps, HERE Drive, HERE Transit and the Nokia MixRadio that allows listening to free music. Customers can choose from the available colour options of glossy orange, white, matte black and yellow with the back covers exchangeable to customize the handset's appearance.

No announcement has been made yet on when the Nokia Lumia 525 launches in other regions. However, the Geeky Gadgets report claims the Windows Phone handset will be hitting shelves in Asia-Pacific, Africa and Middle East really soon.
