A creative concept of a handset known as iPhone 6C boasts the rumored curved display in the next Apple smartphone.
SET Solution, an Italian company, comes up with a render of the iPhone 5S successor, which it imagined as the iPhone 6C. In its YouTube video, "C" stands for "curved" due to the reported curved display that will be packed in the next iPhone. The device has been developed with the motto, "Life is a curve!"
The render used the curved display designed by the Italian designers. Despite packing the curved display, the developers tried to keep the handset to maintain its low-cost status like the iPhone 5C. Based from the photos, the front is curve retaining its flat back.
The latest concept image could be Apple's response to the emerging trend of curved displays started by LG G Flex and Samsung Galaxy Round. Rumors claimed next generations of LG and Samsung devices will pack curved or flexible screen display.
Bloomberg first reported that Apple is following the lead of LG and Samsung in developing curved screen displays for their smartphones. However, Avi Greengart, research director for consumer devices at Current Analysis, does not agree with the previous rumors saying Apple may not include the rumored curved screen display in the upcoming iPhone 6 for release next year.
"I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever that Apple is investigating curved displays and any other component coming on to the scenes. That's what Apple does. Apple tests things out internally to see if they make sense," Greengart said.
Aside from a curved display, iPhone 6 is also seen to pack the 64-bit A7 processor, M7 graphics chip and the fingerprint sensor, which were first seen in iPhone 5S. Other rumors suggested the next iPhone will pack a camera using a new light technology.
iPhone 6 release date is still unconfirmed with growing speculation that it may probably arrive early next year. Although other reports cited that iPhone 6 launch will happen in the second half of 2014.
