Both Sony Xperia Z1 and LG G2 are best buy smartphones. Which would you purchase this Christmas?
LG G2 is slightly smaller but thicker with a 138.5 mm x 70.9 mm x 8.9 mm dimension than Sony Xperia Z1 with 144 mm x 74 x 8.5 mm in size. The difference is not at all that remarkable. The most visible difference is that LG G2 has put the on/off and speaker volume buttons at the rear of the phone. This is the first time that a smartphone has deviated from the normal design of those buttons placed on the side of the phone. LG makes it easier to adjust the volume while speaking on the phone.
Screen And Display
LG G2 has a slightly bigger screen than Xperia Z1. G2 5.2-inch screen compared to Xperia Z1's 5-inch screen. Both are sporting a full-HD resolution of 1, 920x1, 080 pixels. However, due to G2's slightly wider screen, Sony's flagship had a greater pixel density of 441 ppi. G2 only has 424 ppi pixel density, making Xperia Z1's display clearer and sharper.
Both Xperia Z1 and G2 have Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor with 2 GB RAM. Both smartphones can support web surfing, watching videos, downloading apps, heavy gaming and multitasking without lag. In terms of performance, Xepria Z1 and G2 are at par with each other.
Sony is known for putting good camera units in its smartphones. With a 20.7 MP sensor, Xperia Z1 has one of the best camera units in a smartphone. G2 is lagging behind with its 13 MP camera.
G2 and Xperia Z1 are at par with each other with a battery of 3,000 mAh. Batteries of both smartphones are superior compared to other smartphones.
G2 is cheaper at a range from $349 to $449.95 while Xperia Z1 has a price of between $549 and $834, according to shopboot.com. LG's flagship can perform almost as good as Sony's at a cheaper price.
The main advantage of buying Xperia Z1 is its waterproof body and great photo quality. If you're not that picky with the image quality, G2 is a better phone as it performs as good as Xperia Z1 at a lower price.
