Some of the talented and finest Bollywood actresses, including Kajol, Raveena Tandon and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, had created a buzz when they entered the film industry. But for the past few years they have been staying away from the silver screen, in order to take care of their family and children.
Though these actresses have been in the limelight through endorsement deals and reality shows, audiences have been waiting for them to make a comeback on the big screen.
Here is the list of B-Town actresses who are yet to make a comeback:
Kajol took a break from films after the birth of her first child in 2001. She returned to the silver screen after a gap of six years with Kunal Kohli's "Fanaa", which turned out to be the blockbuster hit. After that she did a few cameo appearances in several films. Kajol's last prominent roles were in "My Name is Khan" and "We Are Family", both in 2010.
However, the actress recently said that she will soon make a second comeback.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Guzarish" in 2010. Several reports claimed that the actress would make a comeback with husband Abhishek in "Happy Anniversary" but the couple denied the news. The actress, who is busy taking care of her daughter Aaradhya, has said that she has been reading scripts but has not finalised anything.
Shilpa Shetty Kundra
Shilpa Shetty Kundra, who is currently judging dance reality show Nach Baliye 6, is apparently in no hurry to make a comeback to films. The diva has said that she wants to take care of her son Viaan and will make a comeback only when her son will understand her work. She was last seen in the 2007 film "Life In A... Metro".
Raveena Tandon will make her full-fledged comeback with Anurag Kashyap's "Bombay Velvet" which is set to release next year. The National award-winning actress was earlier expected to make a comeback with "Shobhana 7 Nights" this year but the film has been delayed.
Madhoo, who has done some remarkable roles in films like "Roja" and "Phool Aur Kaante", was last seen on big screen in 2011. The actress is currently working in the south film industry but is yet to make a grand comeback in Bollywood. The actress recently said that she is looking for some good and challenging roles to make a comeback.
Karishma, also known as "Lolo", made her comeback with "Dangerous Ishq" in 2012 but the film bombed at the box office. Karishma is currently shooting for the remake of Amitabh Bachchan-starrer "Satte Pe Satta".
