Miley Cyrus, the ‘Wrecking Ball’ hitmaker will be ringing in the New Year in Times Square, New York City, instead of performing at Miami, according to several news reports.

The 21-year-old singer first announced the change of plans on twitter saying that Ryan Seacrest had requested her to perform in the city:

Soon after the announcement came, Seacrest also confirmed the news on Jimmy Kimmel Live stating that they have just added her to a number of other artists including Macklemore.

While Miley is evidently excited about New York City, she is apparently ‘bummed’ that she won’t be in Miami. She was initially roped in to perform with Pharell Williams at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach.

The ‘We Can’t Stop’ singer is currently in NYC after giving a sexy Santa Claus performance in Minnesota. The singer dressed up in a body suit (again) with faux fur cuffs and fake-snowball ear rings, reports E! Online.

Miley is all set to perform in Madison Square. Meanwhile she is spending some quality time with her sister Brandi Cyrus. She also posted a photo on twitter captioning it:
“Sissys in NY ❄️❄️❄️❄️”

Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball recently topped Vevo’s most popular videos of 2013 list.
