It is true the team - composed of PlanetBeing, Pod2g, MuscleNerd and Pimskeks - were singing the same tune in the past few months, that the jailbreak work is constantly moving and the elements are there for eventual completion, soon.
How soon? The team is vague on this matter, according to a post by iPhone blogger Michael Nace. At best, the statements coming from Team Evad3rs are what their name suggests - evasive. Nace stressed that the popular developers tend the float the notion that "all of the pieces are in place," and the jailbreak works will be finished.
If that is the case, what is causing the hold back?
Could it be that the security measures that Apple has dispatched with iOS 7 are proving impregnable for Team Evad3rs, which Nace noted are backed by the tech giant's solid plan of constant and short updates that will be deployed in tranches until the next iOS version.
This way, any holes that hackers can exploit will be plugged, effectively keeping Team Evad3rs from ever unlocking Apple's new mobile operating system.
If indeed Apple would be a few steps ahead of any attempt to jailbreak iOS 7 then it is likely that its replacement would come, the iOS 8, and even the iPhone 6 would be unveiled but the Evasi0n iOS 7 jailbreak would not materialise, Nace argued in his blog.
The clock continues to tick and if Apple would keep up with its cat-and-mouse game with Team Evad3rs and other hackers then the likelihood is, the 2014 WWDC will come in June and the unlocking tool for iPhones and iPads will remain a dream.
By that time, it would be moot and academic for Team Evadr3s to pursue its Evasi0n iOS 7 jailbreak works, Nace said.
And the best alterative out there for the jailbreak community is the iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak that iH8Snow will reportedly unleash this December 2013. Though latest reports seem to indicate that a slight delay should be expected.
Still, the waiting time should be short - probably a couple more of weeks after December should iH8Snow decided that his opus needs a bit more of fine tuning before the actual spread out - compared to the iOS 7 jailbreak, the wait for which is slowly becoming a drag.
Or fans of Team Evad3rs can keep the faith and believe the recent report that says the Evasi0n iOS 7 jailbreak is undergoing device integration checks then it should be up and about, very soon.
