Search engine giant Google has announced a white variant of the company's 2013 flagship tablet edition Nexus 7.
The white Nexus 7 model has been already made available in the US, via Google Play store, and is expected to set foot in the UK and Japan soon. However, there is no word from either Google, or co-developer Asus, whether the new colour model would be released in other international markets.
The new Nexus 7 variant features white coating only on the back side, whereas on the front it flaunts the series' usual black colour. On specifications front, both exterior design and internal components remain same. It sports a 7.02-inch IPS LCD screen with full HD 1080x1920p display resolutions and runs on the stock v4.3 Jelly Bean OS (KitKat update available via OTA). It packs Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 400 MHz Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB RAM, 16GB/32GB in-built storage.
It is to be noted that Google Nexus 7 white variant is available only with 32GB (Wi-Fi only) storage version. The device is priced $269 in US, that's approximately ₹16,500 in Indian denominations.
Beside Nexus 7 (2013) white variant, American company also pulled the wraps off two special Google edition devices - LG G-Pad 8.3 tablet and Sony Xperia Z Ultra phablet for $349 (around ₹21,410) and $649 (around ₹39,810) respectively. Like the previous HTC One and Galaxy S4 Google edition variants, the new gadgets will only be available in the US markets.
