Kanye West compared his daring stage manouevres to the dangers facing a cop or a soldier at war.

Kanye West has provoked fresh controversy by comparing his job as a performer to a solider fighting in a war.

The Bound 2 hitmaker, who is currently on the North American leg of his Yeezus tour, raised eyebrows when he claimed that he was risking his life every time he took to the stage to perfom his complex routines.

"I'm just giving of my body on the stage and putting my life at risk, literally," he said during a radio interview with SaturdayNightOnline.com.

His questionable comments were referring to his tour performances of songs like "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and "Coldest Winter," during which he stands on top of a moving mountain.

"That mountain goes really, really high and if I slipped ... You never know. And I think about it. I think about my family and I'm like 'Wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.'"

The Watch The Throne star also claimed that he repeatedly puts his life at risk for his family, wife-to-be Kim Kardashian and daughter North.

"Like you literally [sic] going out to do your job every day, knowing that something could happen. Something can happen to you. I'll explain to my daughter one day, that me and her mother, we had to fight for this position that we'll finally have."

One unimpressed fan said: "This disgusting idiot has about as much in common with a police officer or a soldier as I do with an alien. He wouldn't last 3 seconds as a police officer or soldier in this country or any other. Then again, no police department or military branch would ever disgrace itself by accepting such a disgusting piece of waste."

West has made some outlandish statements in recent weeks, among them, claims that he was a creative genius and his daughter North was like royalty.

The 36-year-old star said:  "When I say 'creative genius' it's not a compliment to myself, it's a plague. To be able to have all these ideas and not get them out. That's painful."

West's Yeezus tour wraps up on December 23, following a slump in ticket sales.  Earlier this month less than 4,500 fans reportedly turned up to watch his show at a 19,000-seat arena in Kansas.
