The negative reviews from critics have not affected Prabhu Deva's directorial film "R... Rajkumar" in India.
Released on 6 December, the masala entertainer was slammed by reviewers, calling it one of the worst films. However, despite the negative reviews, the film is entertaining audiences across the country.
The flick, starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha, had a fabulous start with around ₹9.5 crore on Friday. And the film has managed to continue the momentum in its second day, to rake in around ₹8.5 crore, according to boxofficeindia.com.
The two-day total of Shahid-Sonakshi starrer stands at around ₹18 crore.
Saturday witnessed a slight fall in its collection but overall it managed to hold its position at the box office. Box offices in Delhi, UP and Punjab had seen positive growth on Saturday, compared to the opening day.
The two-day trend suggests the film will definitely not be a flop. The budget of the film is around ₹40 crore and if it continues to maintain a steady pace at the box office, it might earn the production cost within its first week.
The film opened well on Sunday at several places and, in certain circuits, the film is running housefull. At several places the occupancy is more than 90 percent, with response from moviegoers being overwhelming.
