Live in Muntinlupa City, Philippines, the 13th edition of Miss Earth grand coronation night is heating up the Versailles Palace as the 89 candidates from all corners of the world push for environmental awareness through Miss Earth Organization. The well-known couple and Asian presenters, Oli Pettigrew and Linda Black whom are both based in Singapore are the nights' pageant's hosts.
Reigning Miss Earth 2012, Tereza Fajksova from Czech Republic will soon crown the 13th Miss Earth Queen who will continue her legacy for spreading word about environmental awareness. The 89 candidates are their countries earth warriors who will dedicate their time and energy to promote projects and address global issues concerning the environment and the earth.
For the past 3 weeks, the 89 2013 Miss Earth delegates have immersed themselves from all types of environmental awareness seminars to arm themselves with the knowledge on how to educate people in their country.
Prior to the coronation night, the contestants were divided into 3 groups where they competed in "I Love My Planet School Campaign." Miss South Africa Ashanti Mbanga from Group 1 was chosen as the Best School Tour Teachers, including Miss Northern Ireland Amira Graham and Miss USA Nicole Velez.
In the same event, the most child friendly contestant was also chosen. Miss Austria Katia Wagner from Group 1, Miss Nepal Rojisha Shahi Thakuri from Group 2 and Miss Thailand Punika Kulsoontornrut from Group 3.
Miss friendship was also awarded before the final night. Miss Indonesia Nita Sofiani from Group 1 was awarded the friendliest. Miss Lebanon Rita Houkayem from Group 2 and Miss Gabon Filiane Mayombo Koundi from Group 3 were hailed as the warmest in the group.
In their sexiest bikinis, the Top 16 candidates were serenaded by David Pomeranz, an international artist is known for his hit "Now and Forever," "Nothing's Gonna Stop Me Now," and "The Old Songs" with Barry Manilow. Before the announcement of the Top 8, the 16 candidates displayed their elegant gowns with Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" song playing in the background.
